Woodford Green, Redbridge
Ian Subaskaran, 16, organised his charity walk to raise money for a brand new sensory garden for children with special educational needs.
£0 raised of £11,000
Every pound helps finish the garden so the first groups of children can start visiting.
Ian's Charity Walk 2026
Friends, family and neighbours walked together in Ian's Charity Walk t-shirts to raise money for the sensory garden.
The garden
The new sensory garden in Woodford Green is purpose-built for children with special educational needs. It's a safe, inclusive and therapeutic outdoor space where children can learn, relax, play and connect with nature through multi-sensory experiences.
An outdoor classroom where children explore textures, scents and sounds.
A safe, inclusive space designed so every child can join in.
Calm, quiet corners for when the world feels like too much.
Plants, soil and fresh air, close enough to reach out and touch.
“We did this so that people could use it. I'm happy that this walk managed to benefit people.”
Ian's story
Ian gathered walkers to raise money for the charity that takes terminally ill children to Disneyland Paris.
So pupils who dream of coming here could picture it, and have something to work towards.
Organised in the middle of his GCSEs, to help finish the new garden for Redbridge children with SEN.
